MYA FALLEN —one of my all time favs

Mya has always been one of my favorite voices! This song has always been one of my favorites. The vibe is right & her voice is like silk over the track! Enjoy.

The Not-So-Terrible-Monday

So this weekend I’ve unfortunately had the sickies! =(  All my test shoots for the remainder of the holiday are scratched & I’m kinda bummed a/b it!  But health is more important…I can’t possibly look professional coming on location looking like one of those things off “The Walking Dead” . haha! So I’ll keep it work, then home (with a little help from my friends) & reschedule everything! So if you’re a client…I LOVEEEEE you , but I wanna make sure I crank out QUALITY work, not sicky stuff! lol I may have to have a procedure done next week but not TOTALLY 100% sure! Hopefully I can go in, knock all this stuff out & be ready to roll for all of my December & rescheduled shoots! Ya’ll keep me in prayer (in my old church lady voice)!

Peace & photos! ❤

Drea’s Maternity Shoot

I am SO super ready to update the Official [Joc’s Photography] Website & post the photos from my college roomate Drea’s mommy shoot! We did it on a really cool Saturday on the day of her baby shower! Besides doing what a godmommy does, this shoot was like another gift to she & Mikey for being good parents ALREADY! Here is a sneak peek of some photos from the shoot (hope Drea won’t mind. lol)

20 Years and Still Overcoming…

I know this has virtually NOTHING to do with photography but today marks the 20th anniversary of Magic Johnson’s announcement of his HIV status & retirement from the NBA/Lakers. Yes we all know that he acquired the virus from sleeping around on his wife, but I think getting HIV could be on of the the best things that could’ve happened to him. I know I just lost some of you right then…! haha but think of this: if he had  NOT gotten infected, he probably would’ve continued cheating on his wife & taken his life & his family for granted. Even worse, he could’ve gotten actual AIDS! Though I’m quite positive he’s suffered emotionally, physically, etc…he’s actually become a bigger hero than basketball could’ve EVER made him! Through his public diagnosis, he’s allowed others who have the virus to see that they TOO can have a chance at an awesome life. Not too many years ago, through the power of God & medicine, Magic was healed & cured of HIV and has raised SO much money for research, it’s now possible for the common-man to recieve much needed, immune boosting medication so that they won’t have to succomb to the complications the HIV virus can cause. So on this day, I tip my hat to Magic for being brave & faithful.
